Gujarat captain Urvil Patel scored a 31-ball hundred, hitting 11 fours and 8 sixes, against Services at the Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad on the first day of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
In response, Gujarat openers Urvil and Aarya Desai dominated the Services bowling attack. It put together a 174-run opening partnership in an easy run chase. She finished not out with a score of 199 off 37 balls, hitting 12 fours and 10 sixes.
Urvil Patel smashes 31-ball 100
Urvil, who played for the Chennai Super Kings in the last IPL, retained by them before mini auction. In IPL 2025, Urvil’s strike rate was impressive. In three innings, which included one that ended in a two-ball duck, he scored 68 runs at over 200.
Notably, Gujarat’s Urvil topped the sixes chart with 29 in six innings at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. He also shares the record for the joint second-fastest T20 century, achieved off 28 balls. Despite his success, he went unsold in the 2025 IPL mega auction but later brought in as a replacement for Vansh Bedi.
