India bowled out Pakistan for a modest total of 146 and chased down the target of 147 with two balls to spare. Varma scored an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls, while Shivam Dube added a quick 33 off 22 balls during an important 60-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Needing 10 runs off the last over, Tilak hit the controversial Haris Rauf into the mid-wicket stands. Rinku Singh then got his first chance of the tournament and sent the Indian fans into a frenzy with the winning boundary.
Turning point of game for India
While Kuldeep Yadav (17 wickets in the tournament) wreaked havoc, leading Pakistan to lose their last 9 wickets for just 33 runs, Tilak remained calm after the team’s initial top-order collapse. He added 57 runs with Samson and another 64 runs with Dube to maintain India’s dominance in Asia Cup 2025 over Pakistan in white-ball formats in recent years. The turning point of the game came in the 15th over bowled by Haris Rauf (0/50 in 3.4 overs), which yielded 17 runs.
