IPL Team Owner Criticizes BCCI After Series Loss Against South Africa

Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal reacted on social media to the Indian cricket team’s Test series loss against South Africa. India faced a big 408-run defeat in the second Test match at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. It results in criticism of head coach Gautam Gambhir. Jindal urged the BCCI to appoint a dedicated red-ball coach, expressing disappointment over India’s second home Test series loss in just over a year.

While India’s white-ball performance under Gambhir has been quite good, the team’s struggles in Test cricket have drawn criticism from fans and experts.

Parth Jindal Criticizes BCCI After India’s Heavy Test Series Defeat

“Not even close, what a complete thrashing at home! I don’t remember seeing our Test side being so weak at home! This is what happens when red-ball specialists not picked.

This team does not reflect the deep strength we have in the red-ball format. It’s time for India to move to a specialist red-ball coach for Test cricket,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Gautam Gambhir Defends Team After Controversial Loss and Pant’s Shot Selection

Gambhir didn’t blame any one player for the painful 408-run loss against South Africa in the second Test. However, he strongly hinted that he upset with India’s stand-in captain Rishabh Pant for “playing to the gallery.”

Gambhir’s usual fiery post-match press conference had one odd moment—he was full of contradictions during those fifteen minutes. India started well at 95 for one, but things quickly deteriorated, leaving the hosts struggling at 122 for seven, primarily due to Marco Jansen’s outstanding performance with the ball. Pant made a poor decision to charge at Jansen when he should have shown more caution, and that shot may have been the worst of all the dismissals.

After the 0-2 series defeat, Gambhir was asked if he expected more from Pant, who is now one match shy of 50 Test matches. “You don’t blame one individual shot. You don’t blame one individual for playing in a certain way. You blame everyone. I’ve never talked about one player. I’m not going to start now,” Gambhir said during the media conference.
