PM Modi welcomed the Women’s Cricket World Cup Champions, to his official residence at 7, LKM. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, arrived in the national capital last night for their meeting with the PM.
Under Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership, Team India made history by winning the Women’s World Cup title. They defeated a strong South African team in the final, held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. For the first time, India Women became the world champions.
Women’s Cricket World Cup Champions invited at PM house
On Wednesday evening, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, visited PM Modi’s residence at 7, LKM for their meeting. The Prime Minister greeted them warmly and interacted with all the players.
Amol Muzumdar, the head coach of the Indian Women’s Team, and BCCI president Mithun Manhas joined the team during the visit.
During the meeting, PM Modi spoke with the champions and praised their remarkable comeback after three consecutive losses in the league stage, which had drawn intense criticism on social media.
