Rajeev Shukla is ready to take over as the BCCI President, as Roger Binny, who currently holds the office, is nearing the age limit for this role. Shukla currently serves as the vice president of the cricket Board and will take over as interim President for the next 3 months.
Rajeev Shukla replace Roger Binny on BCCI President Position
Roger Binny, who’s also a member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning group, is ready to turn 70 on July 19 this year. Hence, he will pass the age limit for the President’s position set in BCCI’s charter. India Today learned that to fill the vacant role, Rajeev Shukla will preside over the duties of the President till a new individual is elected for this role.
Binny elected as the BCCI President in 2022, as he took over from Sourav Ganguly. The legendary seamer has represented the US in 27 Tests and 72 ODIs, having taken 124 wickets in total. He performed a main role in India’s ancient 1983 World Cup triumph, being the best wicket-taker of the match with 18 wickets from 8 innings.

Meanwhile, Rajeev Shukla has get position of BCCI vice chairman since 2020. He has also served as the Secretary of UP Cricket Association (UPCA) until 2017 and the chairman of the IPL till 2018.
