India lost consecutive wickets in the first innings of the second Test match at Edgbaston. Shubman Gill, the new captain for the India team in the longest format of the game, smashed another century for the team. India’s younger opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, scored 87 runs as no other top-order batter, such as Gill, may want to provide a hand with the bat. Newly inducted in the playing 11, Nitish Kumar Reddy leave for only 1 run. Then came the ‘Rescue Man’ of the Indian side, Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja smashed a half-century when India wished it the most.
He show his batting skills again and repeated the same method that he use in 2022 when he smashed 104 runs in Birmingham in 5th Test match. Jadeja is sticking to the crease and complementing Shubman Gill with a potential partnership of over 100 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja Brilliant Performance for Indian Team
Jadeja smashed 104 runs in the first innings whilst he bowled by English legend James Anderson. He make his century in 194 deliveries, which show his capacity to play in the longer formats of the sport. But after giving a lovely performance in the first innings and taking India to a score of 416 with Rishabh Pant’s 146 runs, Jadeja could not deliver a comparable result in the second innings. By scoring just 23 runs, India’s defeat became obvious, and they lost by 7 wickets.
