From there on, Pant put his head down as India completed Day 2 at 145 for 3 in 43 overs.

Player sustains Injury
Rishabh Pant sustained a painful finger injury on Day 1 of the ongoing Test, leaving the field in the 34th over of England’s innings. He did not go back for the remainder of the first innings, with Dhruv Jurel stepping in as his wicketkeeping replacement.
Ahead of Day 2, the BCCI confirmed that Pant was analyzed by the medical team, who were carefully monitoring the situation of his left index finger.
Despite the discomfort, Pant confirmed resilience through resuming training on Day 2 of the Lord’s Test, Friday, July 11. The teen also went through a few discomforts while batting in the first consultation on Day 3.
