This will be the first time Riyan Parag will lead the Royals considering starting his IPL career with the same franchise in 2019. Samson’s Injury
Riyan Parag is new captain of Rajasthan Royals for this IPL 2025. Samson joined the Royals earlier this week after completing his recovers from a finger surgery he undergoes final month. The 30-year old cricketer, who complete his treatment on the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, attended the Royals’ first practice session on Monday beforehand of the imminent season.
Samson had suffered the injury after being struck by bouncer from Jofra Archer all through India’s five-match T20I series against England. Following the injury, he undergoes surgery to deal with the damaged finger. In Samson’s absence behind the stumps, Dhruv Jurel will most in all cases be performing the wicketkeeping duties in the first 3 matches for the Royals.
The franchise, which gained the IPL recognition in its inaugural season in 2008, will starts their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on March 23.
