UP Warriorz Secure Deepti Sharma for Record 3.2 Crore in WPL 2026 Auction

Deepti Sharma had a fantastic moment at the WPL 2026 mega auction. She returned to UP Warriorz for a INR 3.2 crore after the franchise decided to bring her back using their Right to Match card. Deepti was the first player to go for over INR 3 crore in the first round of bidding.

Her excellent performances in the recent ODI World Cup made her the most wanted player, with teams eager to sign the Player of the Tournament.

Delhi Capitals started the bidding for the Indian all-rounder at INR 50 lakh. To everyone’s surprise, no other team joined in. However, UP Warriorz held the RTM card and chose to use it. DC had the chance to raise their offer and pushed their bid to INR 3.2 crore, which the Warriorz matched to bring Deepti back.

She became the joint-second most expensive player in WPL history, alongside Ashleigh Gardner. Smriti Mandhana remains at the top with her INR 3.4 crore contract with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Spent 2.6 crore on Deepti

Deepti had signed with the UP Warriorz for INR 2.6 crore. It mean that the franchise spent INR 60 lakh more to bring her back after releasing her. She has been one of the league’s most reliable players, scoring 507 runs and taking 27 wickets in 25 matches, showing her worth as a true match-winning all-rounder.

Deepti Sharma stood out in the ODI World Cup 2025. She didn’t just take home the World Cup trophy; she was the star player. She scored 215 runs with three half-centuries and finished with 22 wickets, earning the Player of the Tournament award.
