Rangpur were staring at the face of defeat when four wickets were down with 26 runs to win off the last over from a massive total of 197 runs. Then, enter skipper Nurul Hasan of Rangpur, armed with a steely resolve and a blistering array of shots – He smashed the third-highest final-over score in T20s.
Before him was Kyle Mayers, so he launched ferocious attacks upon it, sending the ball into three colossal sixes and three thunderous fours out of the ground; boundary after boundary exploded in the air, tension climbing with each and every delivery towards an impossible chase. Then in the final delivery, with only two runs required from it, the ever-stoic calm Hasan hit one more towering six to seal another dramatic victory in his favor.

This incredible display of power-hitting catapulted Nurul Hasan into the T20 record book. His 24-run blitzkrieg was one of the highest scores seen in the last over of a T20 game, only exceeded by Somerset’s 34 in 2015, albeit in a losing cause, and Rinku Singh’s five consecutive sixes in IPL 2023.
Nurul Hasan played so well that he was no mean performance beyond brilliance. He played superbly, remaining poised and unruffled under tremendous pressure; even his belief never wavered.
This win ensured that Rangpur Riders continued to sit at the helm of the BPL table. More importantly, it secured Nurul Hasan’s status as one of the most thrilling and impactful players in the BPL.
