Arjun Tendulkar is currently playing for Goa in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He has often been compared to his father, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. Arjun opens for Goa, which some see as odd since he is primarily a bowler and not a known batter.
In the match against his old team, Mumbai, he opened the batting and scored 24 runs off 27 balls. He hit five boundaries during his short time at the crease before Mumbai captain Shardul Thakur took his wicket.
Yograj Singh Says ‘Arjun Tendulkar Bats Like Sachin’
Yograj Singh, Yuvraj’s father and Arjun’s former coach, made a surprising claim. He stated that Arjun is a talented batter and bats like Sachin. “Arjun Tendulkar should focus on batting; he’s a quality batter, he bats like Sachin,” he told sports journalist Ravish Bisht. This is quite a bold assertion, and Yograj is facing criticism online for his remarks.
Arjun set to play in IPL 2026
Arjun is set to play in the highly anticipated IPL in 2026 for Lucknow Super Giants. He was traded for Shardul Thakur. It will be interesting to see if Arjun makes it into the LSG XI in IPL 2026 or if he stays on the bench. Given the LSG squad, it may be challenging for Arjun to secure a spot in the lineup.
