Goa is set to implement the new QR Code system for the tourist vehicle document checks on roads. It became first state in India that introduce this code systems for tourists. This initiative aims to make a smooth travel experience for tourists and reduce the repeated document checks
How does the new QR code system work
When tourists enter Goa with their vehicles, the QR code systems help traffic police check their documents. Once documents are verified, the code will generated and remain valid for 12 hours. If they stopped again, then they show QR Code instead of going through another round of document verification. Goa Police have issue around 4,000 QR codes to tourists to help them avoid unnecessary checks and enjoy tours without problems.
Crime branch SP Rahul Gupta said,” Goa Police have introduced the Quick Pass mobile app for traffic officials. This app is designed to ensure traffic compliance easier and reduce the inconvenience for motorists.” He also adds, “The app generates a code that is sent as SMS to law-abiding travelers. If they stop again for routine checks, then it shows the Code. It makes document verification quicker and allow smooth movement of vehicles and ensure compliance with traffic rules.”
Smart Features for Better Traffic Management
The QR code system and Quick Pass mobile app consist the real-time traffic data analysis, geotagging, and hotspot mapping of traffic checks. These tools help senior officials to monitor and plan traffic management effectively.
