A nine-seater India One Air aircraft made an emergency landing near Jalda, about 10 km from Rourkela in Odisha, on Saturday. The plane developed a technical issue mid-flight. All six people on board suffered injuries, but there were no fatalities, officials said
According to a statement from the Directorate of Civil Aviation (Commerce & Transport Department), the Caravan 208 aircraft, registered as VT-KSS, was on a flight from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela. It took off at 12:27 PM with two pilots and four passengers.

About eight nautical miles from Rourkela, the pilots decided to land near Jalda after facing problems during their approach. The Directorate stated, “The pilots ensured a controlled landing, which saved lives.”
Passengers and crew taken to hospitals. Once the district administration received information about the incident, they swiftly moved all injured individuals to medical facilities in Rourkela.
- Three passengers are receiving treatment at J.P. Hospital.
- Two pilots and one passenger admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH).
All passengers survive and stable
Officials reported that all are stable and under observation, with no casualties reported. The injured pilots are Captain Naveen Kadanga and co-pilot TarunSrivastav. The passengers include Sushant Kumar Biwal, Anita Sahu, Sunil Agarwal, and SabitaAgarwal, according to sources.
Fire and emergency services from Rourkela and Panposh fire stations were sent to the site as a precaution.
