PM Modi open the 213-km Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and reduce travel time from 6 hours to 2.5 hours. Authorities also set the speed limits, restrict two wheelers and improve safety. It implement the automated enforcement by using ANPR cameras.
The project also includes Asia’s longest elevated wildlife corridor to protect the environment while allowing for fast travel.
Modi launch Delhi-Dehradun Expressway at 13000 crore
The Delhi to Dehradun Expressway, launched by PM Modi, spans 213 km and costs around ₹12,000 to 13,000 crore. It significantly cuts the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun, connecting Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand in a more efficient way.
Officials expect it will enhance tourism, trade, and mobility, while also reducing traffic on older roads.
Save Travel time by 2.5 Hours
To ensure safer travel, speed limits set at 100 km/h for cars, 90 km/h for buses, and 80 km/h for trucks on the expressway. Two-wheelers not allowed. ANPR cameras installed by the NHAI and Transport Department will automatically issue fines for any speed violations. These actions aim to provide safe and predictable travel on the high-speed route.
A feature of the expressway is the 12-km elevated wildlife corridor that runs through Rajaji National Park. It is one of Asia’s longest corridors designed to let elephants, deer, and leopards cross safely under the roadway.
