In a fresh action on illegal immigration in the United States, the Trump administration canceled more than 6,000 visas. The step comes a few days after three people killed after a semi-truck driver, a immigrant, attempted a wrong U-turn on the Florida Turnpike.
The Homeland Security Department said that a commercial driver’s license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) despite his illegal condition as a Sikh person, who identified as Harjinder Singh from India.
Who Was Targeted by Trump administration
Amidst the canceled visas by the Trump administration, there were around 4,000 as visitors broke the law, according to officials, the vast majority was for the attack.
Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and theft were other crimes that resulted in visa cancellation. About 200 to 300 visas also canceled on the basis of terrorism. Citing a rule about visa disqualification under the State Department’s Foreign Affairs Manual, the permit canceled. The rule usually identifies the basis of disqualification as ” engaged in terrorist activities” and “having some links to terrorist groups”.
Students targeted in illegal immigration crackdown
Since coming to power, the Trump administration has adopted a particularly hard-line approach to the student visa as part of its immigration crackdown, tightening social media and expanding screening.
This year, the instructions of the State Department have ordered American diplomats to be cautious against any applicant abroad, which Washington can see with the history of hostile and political activism for the United States.
