Trump warns Russia, threatens severe consequences if Putin obstructs Ukraine deal

Trump warns Russia President Vladimir Putin, threatening “extreme consequences” if Moscow obstructs peace in Ukraine. Speaking on Wednesday, Trump hinted that punitive measures, economic sanctions need to observed if their scheduled meeting in Alaska on Friday fails to provide consequences.

However, Trump did not specify what the results could be. He stressed that the talks help to build foundation for a 2nd meeting, this time related to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump warns Russia over Ukraine deal

“If the first one is going ok, we’ll have a quick 2nd one,” Trump said. “I will like to do it almost right away, and we’ll have a short second meeting between President Putin and President Zelenskyy and myself, if they’d like to have me there.”

The US president also said the battle in Ukraine was the result of the Biden administration’s rules, saying, “This is Biden’s work, this isn’t always my work. He got us into this part. This battle could have never occur if I had been the President. But it’s what it’s far. I am right here to restore it.”

He emphasised his document on global conflicts, claiming, “If we can save a number of lives, it’ll be a notable aspect. I have stopped 5 wars in the last six months. On top of that, we wiped out the nuclear capability of Iran, obliterated it.”

Ukraine draw red lines ahead of Alaska Talks

After the Trump warns Russia, the caution comes after a high-level virtual meeting among Trump, Zelenskyy, and European leaders, hosted by Germany, to outline non-negotiable positions before the Alaska talks.

“We had a very good call. He was on the call. President Zelenskyy was on the decision. French President Emmanuel Macron said Trump had agreed that Ukrainian deal will not negotiated away without Kyiv’s consent. Macron also noted that Trump backed the idea of security guarantees for Ukraine in any post-warfare arrangement.
