Iran has fired at least 165 Ballistic Missiles at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since yesterday, according to a statement from the UAE’s Defence Ministry today. The UAE’s air defence network destroyed 152 of these missiles. The remaining 13 fell into the sea.
Massive Ballistic Missiles and Drone Attack Reported by UAE
They also detected and intercepted two cruise missiles launched by Iran. The largest wave included 541 drones, of which the UAE destroyed 506. About 35 drones landed on the UAE’s territory, damaging several structures and killing three people from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
The attacks also injured 58 people from countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, the UAE said in the statement.
Cruise Missiles Intercepted
While the data above covered all attacks since yesterday, today’s information since morning showed that the UAE took down 20 incoming Ballistic Missiles. Eight of these fell into the sea. The UAE destroyed two cruise missiles and 311 drones. Twenty-one drones targeted civilian areas, according to the UAE.
The overall interception performance confirmed that the UAE Air Force and air defence forces can respond effectively to various threats, said the Defence Ministry.
Some debris fell in scattered areas of the country as air defence systems intercepted ballistic missiles and drones. This led to minor and moderate material damage to some civilian properties, according to the UAE.
