Pakistan feel humiliated at the closed-door meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held on Monday. The hour-and-a-half long meeting have been asked by Pakistan amidst rising tensions with India in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, however, it was left reeling as member states posed hard questions and rejected its “false flag” narrative – that India was responsible for deadly attack and had sought to wrongfully blame Pakistan.
What added to the humiliation was also the reality that none of the Council contributors, such as China, joined Pakistan for the post-consultation press announcement, leaving it in large part remote.

India’s former permanent consultant to the UN, Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin, had the last word. “Pakistan’s grandstanding has flopped again today as in the past,” he said, including that there were no “consequential final results” from the discussion.
As expected, there was no significant reaction by the Council. Indian international relations has once more efficiently parried Pakistani efforts to are trying to find the UNSC intervention,” he added. A protecting Pakistan, however, tried to keep face by saying that its objectives have been “largely served.”
