Bengaluru Murder: Woman Blindfolds Boyfriend, Sets Him Fire for ‘Ignoring’ Her

A woman was frustrated with her boyfriend in Bengaluru from weeks. She decided to teach him a serious lesson. She invited him to her home when she was alone, tied him to a chair, and told him she was going to propose to him in a way that is “popular in foreign countries.”

Prerna and Kiran, both 27, were coworkers and had been dating for more than a year. When Prerna started tying up Kiran, he objected. She then pretended to propose to him. While Kiran was waiting for the moment, Prerna splashed him with a flammable liquid, set him on fire, and filmed him as he died.

According to the police, Prerna was upset with Kiran for not giving her enough attention. She believed he would not marry her. Prerna lived with her mother and brother in Anjanapura, South Bengaluru, and invited Kiran over when she was alone.

Police starts investigation

The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Tuesday within the jurisdiction of Byadarahalli Police Station. Senior officers, including ACP Ashok and Inspector Bhaskar, visited the scene. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) DL Nagesh announced that they have opened a murder case and started an investigation. The police are trying to determine the motive and whether the incident was planned.
