A BJP Yuva Morcha worker shot and injured by another party member in Lucknow yesterday. This incident occurs in Lucknow Mehndiganj area, which falls under the Bazarkhala police station.
The injured man, Shyam Chetan Tiwari, 35, sustained a gunshot wound near his hip joint. He runs a photography studio in Bazarkhala. He was quickly rushed to the Trauma Centre, where he is currently receiving treatment.
BJYM Worker shot in Lucknow, Attack Video Viral
Police report that CCTV footage from the area helped identify the shooter as 25-year-old Vaibhav Bajpai, who is also linked to the BJYM. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Kamlesh Dixit mentioned that the suspect arrested for questioning. Investigators are working to determine the exact motive for the shooting.
Initial findings suggest the shooting may have been related to a dispute over political hoardings in the area. Authorities confirmed that the weapon used in the attack was illegal and seized as part of the investigation.
Shooter, Vaibhav Bajpai arrested
The incident caused anger among local BJYM workers and residents, who gathered to demand strict action against the shooter. The police deployed heavily in Mehndiganj, Lucknow to maintain order and prevent further tensions.
Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and that further legal action depend on the results of the interrogation and forensic reports of the weapon.
