A shocking incident was reported involving a nurse in Uttar Pradesh, Jalaun district, who was gang-raped by six men. According to accusations, these men not only gang-raped but also brutally assaulted her. According to her family, two men allegedly sexually assaulted her while four others held her down. The allegations also include claims that the attackers violated her with a stick and inserted chili powder into her private parts.
The husband of the victim said that the attack was done on Thursday morning when she was commuting to work on her scooter. “My wife, a nurse, was heading to her workplace around 9 a.m. when she was stopped and dragged into the bushes. She called me later and described how two men gang-raped her while others restrained her. She was also physically tortured,” he said. The police were called and immediately rushed her to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Police Investigate Conflicting Claims After Nurse was Gang-Raped in Uttar Pradesh
The incident has outraged, but police have given a different version. Additional Superintendent of Police (Jalaun) Pradeep Kumar Verma said the preliminary findings indicated that she was in a relationship with some man from her village. According to Verma, the man and his family have beaten up the woman, and there was no evidence of gang rape yet.
The woman has made serious allegations, and we’re taking it seriously. We have registered a case, and we are investigating,” Verma stated. He added that a team of investigators is working to get the facts and determine which one is true.
Medical Exam and Legal Proceedings Ongoing
After the assault, the victim was sent to a medical examination. The officials have stated that the whole case about the allegations of sexual violence and physical torture would be scrutinized. Today, it is all about the findings in the medical report and the inquiry by the police.
