A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar after a minor girl and her family accused him of sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment allegations on Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s Son
The complaint filed by the 17-year-old girl’s mother. She stated that the minister’s son, Bhageerath, was in a relationship with her daughter and allegedly sexually harassed her. Police noted that the relationship reportedly started about seven to eight months ago. Officials mentioned that the girl, a student yet to tested as part of the investigation.
POCSO case filed against him
In the meantime, Bhageerath filed a separate complaint with the police in Karimnagar. He alleged that the girl and her parents extorted him and intimidated him. Based on his complaint, an FIR was registered. Bhageerath claimed that after meeting the girl, her family invited him to family events and gatherings. He believed they were trustworthy and joined them on trips to several holy places as part of a friend’s group.
Bhageerath further claimed that the girl and her parents later pressured him to marry her, but he turned down the proposal. Following this, the family allegedly demanded money and threatened to frame him in false cases if he did not comply.
