Allu Arjun summoned by Hyderabad police for questioning regarding stampede incident

Allu Arjun, the Telugu superstar, has been summoned for interrogation by Hyderabad Police regarding the sad stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2. A lady had lost her life and her young son got seriously injured in this tragic incident that took place on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The actor is still on interim bail and he needs to appear at the Chikkadpally police station tomorrow at 11 a.m.

Hyderabad police summons Allu Arjun for questioning

The Hyderabad Police charged Allu Arjun, along with the theatre management and his team, with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. On 13 December, the actor was arrested and was put into 14 days of custody by a city court. However, it was on the same day that the Telangana High Court granted him four weeks of interim bail.

The summons comes amidst speculation that authorities might move to cancel Arjun’s bail. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand recently unveiled a detailed 10-minute video compiled from 1,000 CCTV clips to provide a timeline of the stampede. The footage reportedly counters claims made by the actor, who has denied responsibility.

Allu’s comments on the stampede incident

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy slammed Allu Arjun for his actions on that fateful day. Speaking in the assembly, Reddy alleged that the actor was ignoring police instructions and staging an unauthorized roadshow that was said to have led to the crowd surge.

Allu Arjun termed the allegations false and expressed that he was hurt over what he termed “character assassination.” Meanwhile, his legal team met at his residence today to prepare for tomorrow’s questioning.

This has deepened scrutiny on the role of this actor in the tragedy because police said they will now proceed after getting some advice from their legal team on the issue. The process is still going on.
