Prime Minister Modi held a massive roadshow in Howrah on Thursday as part of the election campaign for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls. Earlier that day, PM Modi spoke at an election rally in Mathurapur. He claimed that the ruling TMC has taken away the rights of women in Bengal.

PM Modi also addressed another rally in Krishnanagar to support the BJP’s campaign. He noted that there is a call for change coming from all directions. “Everyone is saying, ‘Paltano Dorkar’ (change is necessary). A storm of change is sweeping through Bengal. Exactly ten days later, when the votes are counted, I am confident that the lotus will bloom everywhere,” he said.
He told the people of Bengal, especially first-time voters, that now is the time to remove the ruthless government in Bengal. “It’s the right time. The presence of mothers and sisters here in such large numbers to bless us all will surely disturb the TMC,” he said.
Accused Trinamool Congress Govt for making false promises
PM Modi accused the Trinamool Congress government of making false promises and urged people to vote for a double-engine government.
“No more tyranny will be tolerated. They have been doing wrong for the last 15 years, but that stops now. Bengal suffered under the Left’s misgovernance for three decades and then gave the TMC three chances. Now compare 11 years of BJP governance at the Center with 15 years of TMC rule in West Bengal. We delivered programs like PM Awas Yojana, Jan Dhan accounts, Lakhpati Didi, Ayushman cards, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. The list is long. Even if we counted for a day, many would still remain. But the TMC has only offered false promises,” he said.
