Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Earns Modest 2.85 Crore on Diwali Debut Amid Mixed Reviews

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, features Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa in leading roles, has finally hit theaters. The film seems to be a surprise contender. Its promotional material has caught attention, and with the Diwali festive season here, it is expected to attract a good audience. According to day 1 advance bookings at the Indian box office, the film has already become Harshvardhan’s biggest opener, which is impressive.

The Bollywood romantic drama is up against another Diwali release, Thamma. While this competition affects the showtime, Thamma has more shows. However, the intense romantic drama still has its audience. It recently celebrated the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam and Saiyaara. With nearly 5,900 screenings across India, the film has a chance to succeed.

Final day 1 advance booking of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat

On the final advance booking update for day 1, film sold over 94,000 tickets, not counting blocked seats. With these sales, it has grossed 2.85 crores at the Indian box office. This is a solid number for a film of its smaller scale. The festive atmosphere will further help with walk-in audiences.

This record marks Harshvardhan Rane’s biggest opening at the Indian box office. With a 2.85 crore gross from opening day pre-sales alone, film achieved the biggest opening for Harshvardhan Rane. Previously, Rane’s biggest opener was Savi, which made 2.41 crore gross on day 1. Given the pre-sales, it is likely that he will see his first opener exceed 5 crores.
