Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with security forces deployed in Gujarat’s Kachchh district, continuing with his tradition of celebrating the festival with the armed forces every year. This Diwali, in Army uniform, PM Modi joined soldiers at Lakki Nala in Sir Creek, offered sweets, and spoke words of appreciation with them. BSF, Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel formed part of his visit to display respect for their service in protecting the nation.
PM Modi has hailed the commitment of the soldiers in his Diwali message, saying, “My greetings on this day are an expression of the sentiments of 140 crore Indians.” He said, “The country sees you as a symbol of security and peace, the world respects India’s power, and our enemies fear your resolve.” This festival of light fills PM Modi to remind him that the country has always been upfront in standing with the soldiers in the solemn performance of duty and sacrifices.

The Prime Minister also reminded the audience of the past compromises on India’s borders, especially the Sir Creek area. Then Gujarat Chief Minister PM Modi had strongly objected to diplomatic designs that would rob India of this region. “There is a government now which will not compromise on a single inch of the nation’s territory. We place our trust in our soldiers, not in the empty words of adversaries,” he said with a focus on national security.
Since 2014, PM Modi celebrates the festival of Diwali with soldiers every year at different posts around the country. From Siachen in 2014 to Kargil in 2022 and now Kachchh, he consistently honours the armed forces on this festive occasion, marking each Diwali with gratitude and unity.
Earlier, the PM also attended National Unity Day celebrations in Gujarat’s Statue of Unity, remembering the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the nation. The Prime Minister announced that the celebrations for Patel’s 150th birth anniversary would go on for two years, and this Diwali assumes even more significance since it falls on Patel’s birth anniversary.
