The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) destroyed 4,810kg Fake Paneer worth ₹10.50 lakh seized for the duration of a special raid performed on 3 trucks on the Lucknow-Agra expressway on Monday morning. Suspecting adulteration, a FSDA team had seized the huge amount of paneer, and revealed it as most adulterated foods.
The paneer was founded unfit for human consumption. Assistant commissioner FSDA VP Singh said that a speedy quality test conducted by FSDA lab confirmed the paneer was adulterated. It was made with skimmed milk powder, and to increase its fats content, oils and different fatty ingredients have been brought, rendering it risky for consumption.
FSDA Team Destroyed 4800 kgs Fake Paneer
The seized paneer become destroyed in a pit later in the nighttime. Singh said, “During the marriage season, this paneer is used by caterers, hotels, restaurants, and eateries.” In fact, there are many famous restaurant, like Gauri Khan are fall in controversy, due to selling fake paneer.
He said, “This action is part of FSDA’s ongoing efforts to ensure food safety, especially in the course of top intake periods. The branch will retain to reveal and adjust food products to protects public health.”
Earlier, the team officers led by assistant commissioner FSDA Vijay Pratap Singh, carried out a raid at the toll plaza on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. During the inspection, 3 vehicles returning from Agra—bearing registration numbers UP 85 ET 8223, UP 85 ET 4378, and UP 81 ET 2903—were found transporting huge amount of paneer.
Paneer Samples sent to Lab for Testing quality
Authorities recovered 2,000 kg, 1,800 kg, and 1,010 kg of Fake Paneer from every vehicle respectively, raising problems over its quality. Food samples have been amassed from each vehicle were sent for laboratory analysis as per food protection guidelines.
The vehicles had been linked to Azad, son of Digambar Singh from Mathura (Radhe Milk Product), Bhim Singh, son of Chandrapal Singh from Mathura (Atul Dairy) and Arif, son of Unnas, from Mathura (Ayat Milk Dairy, Palwal, Haryana). Assistant commissioner FSDA VP Singh stated, “FSDA is aware of the problems over quality of paneer getting dumped into the Lucknow market from other towns. The paneer samples were sent to labs for testing. If anything substandard is located in the samples, strict action will be taken.”
