Paresh Rawal is making headlines with a rather weird health claim. In an interview with Lallantop on April 27, the veteran actor recalled a time whilst he suffered a knee injury and discovered that he drank his own urine for 15 days to speed up his recovery. Sharing his experience, he said, “If I needed to do it, I concept, I will sip it like beer.”
Liver Doctor slams Paresh Rawal
While the actor’s remarks have sparked high discussions online, medical experts have fast stepped in to warn against following such advice. Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, who goes by “The Liver Doc” on social media, referred to as out Paresh Rawal for his views and entreated social media customers not to comply with his recommendation blindly.
He wrote, “Please do not drink your urine (or others) because a Bollywood actor says so. There is no medical proof to help the idea that drinking urine provides any health benefits”.
Drinking Urine: Safe or Not?
“In reality, drinking urine can be harmful, potentially introducing micro organism, pollution, and other harmful materials into the bloodstream. Your kidneys works very hard to dispose of poisonous stuff out of your body through urine. Don’t insult it by using placing it returned in. Urine is NOT sterile. Urine is a amazing combination of salts and chemicals that your body is attempting to do away with. These chemical substances can cause huge health problems if you eat them,” he added.
Further slamming Paresh, he wrote, “Paresh Rawal is the perfect example of the Indian WhatsApp Boomer Uncle. He’s announcing this to stay alive in the media”. While Rawal’s declaration has simply ignited communication, medical professionals hold to caution against turning to such unscientific methods for recovery.
