PM Modi launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Scheme on Friday to support women entrepreneurs in Bihar. The program provides a financial support of Rs 10,000 to each of 75 lakh women for their business ideas. This scheme was introduced by CM Nitish Kumar to promote women’s empowerment. The NDA government’s Rs 7,500-crore scheme targets self-employment and livelihood opportunities.
PM Modi launch the women-focused initiative virtually from Delhi. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and other ministers joined the event via video conference from Patna.
PM Launch New Rojgar Scheme before Bihar elections
The launch occurs just weeks before Bihar will vote to elect a new government. During his address, PM Modi said, “Bihar’s 75 lakh women received Rs 10,000 each under the new scheme and will receive an additional Rs 2 lakh to improve their entrepreneurial skills.” He mentioned that the women of Bihar have two brothers, “Modi and Nitish ji,” who are working for their empowerment.
What is the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
Under this scheme, the state government will provide financial support to one woman from each family that leads to social empowerment. A senior official told the news agency that the scheme aims for economic independence for women in Bihar.
“Each beneficiary of New Rojgar Scheme will receive an initial grant of Rs 10,000 via direct benefit transfer, with the possibility of additional support of up to Rs 2 lakh in later phases,” the official said.
