Aadhaar Card update from 1 November, UIDAI New Rules applicable

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is ready to simplify and speed up the Aadhaar Card update process. Aadhaar card holders can now change their name, address, date of birth, and mobile number online. This new digital system will reduce the need for in-person visits to Aadhaar Seva Kendras and will eliminate the tedious physical paperwork involved.

Aadhaar Card update integrates Data in Government Databases

Aadhaar cards are crucial identification documents in India. They are linked to many government schemes and other IDs like the PAN Card. The Aadhaar card helps people access various government services. Until now, updating personal details on Aadhaar Cards required going to enrollment centers and showing physical documents. UIDAI’s new system aims to change that by connecting with existing government databases such as PAN, passport, and ration card records.

This connection will allow for automatic verification of certain details, significantly cutting down processing times. Additionally, utility bills for services like electricity and water will now be accepted as valid proof of address. This change will expand the list of eligible documents needed for the update process.
