On Wednesday, Tamil Actor Vijay falls into the ‘Hindi imposition’ row between Tamil Nadu’s ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led center. He slams both parties and labels the bitter back-and-forth “a fight among KG (kindergarten) students.” It drew a response, and DMK accused Vijay of “creating an illusion” and of being “scared” of the BJP.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam boss has a large fan following. It appears as a dark horse for next year’s Assembly election. It seemed to start his campaign by accuse DMK and BJP of confront over National education policy and three language formula.
Actor Vijay Fall in Tamil Nadu’s ‘Language War’
Vijay speak at a party event near Chennai and ripped into the centre over reports Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has threatened to withhold Rs 2,400 crore in funds if the government not accept the NEP, include three language formula.
Pradhan comment cause the Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and his son and deputy, Udhayanidhi Stalin, who declare the state ready for another language war. On a spat between Stalins and Mr Pradhan, Vijay said, “ The center deny funds for Tamil Nadu is like fight among students.”
Mr Pradhan face these attacks, and accuse DMK of creating “false narrative”. He said that the state agreed to implement a new policy before the U-turn.
Vijay’s “#GetOut” Gameplan
Actor Vijay put focus on Tamil Nadu’s cultural and linguistic heritage in two-pronged attack. He called on Tamil voters to together under his “#GetOut” hashtag, that declare the targets the removal of “landlords”, like DMK from power in state and BJP from centre.
He asked, “Tamil Nadu is known for self-respect. How you impose language against state policy in a federal set-up?.” It refers to the 1967 and 1977 Tamil Nadu elections.
