Reports indicate that an argument broke out after Brigadier Parminder Singh Arora stopped the men from drinking in public. The situation escalated when the two men called for help. Soon after, 7-8 men arrived in multiple vehicles and launched an attack.

The Brigadier’s son suffered serious injuries during the assault, while the officer pushed and manhandled when he tried to intervene.

Drinking become reason of assault

“It was a Saturday night. Around 10, after dinner, we were out for a small walk just outside our house, and we saw two people drinking in a Mercedes car. My father questioned them, saying that in a public society, you cannot drink here and asked them to go somewhere else or to their house,” the Army Brigadier son told in a phone interview. The man in the car told the officer that he was free to call anyone, but insisted he would not leave, the son claimed.

“My father got pushed a bit. They dragged me, and I bruised all over. The attackers arrived in two taxis and started assaulting me and insulting my mother. No weapons involved,” the son said.
