Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the new integrated terminal at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati will begin commercial operations today.
It marks a major addition to the state’s aviation infrastructure. In a social media post, Mr. Sarma said that the terminal built with local involvement and represents Assam’s growing role as an important gateway to the north eastern region and beyond.

Earlier, Mr. Sarma shared images of the new terminal, showcasing its modern facilities and passenger services. Officials mentioned that the integrated terminal expected to greatly increase passenger handling capacity and improve overall operational efficiency due to the rising air traffic in the area.
Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the main aviation gateway to the northeastern region, connecting Guwahati with major cities across India and select international destinations.
