In a troubling case of ‘VIP culture’ gone too far, the son of a BJP MLA in Madhya Pradesh drove his SUV into five pedestrians in Shivpuri, leading to a high-profile investigation.

The incident happened early in the morning at 7:30 AM. Dinesh Lodhi, the son of Pichhore MLA Pritam Lodhi, allegedly collided with five people. Three of whom were on a motorcycle, and two were female pedestrians.

The injured individuals are Sanjay Parihar, Ashish Parihar, Anshul Parihar, Sita Verma, and Pooja Soni. Complainant Sanjay Parihar, a resident of Sanheda in Datia, said he, along with Ashish and Anshul riding a motorcycle toward Thanra village for work. Sita Verma and Pooja Soniwere walking ahead on the road.

Blame victims, says I give loud sirens

He alleged that the SUV came up from behind and struck their motorcycle first. He throw them onto the road before hitting the two women. Local residents rushed to the scene and took all five injured individuals to a nearby hospital.

The injured claimed that Dinesh Lodhi was driving the vehicle. They noted that the front of the SUV had “Pritam Lodhi” written on it and “MLA” on the back. They also alleged that the accused argued with them after the crash and made threats.

To make matters worse, the accused tried to blame his victims, suggesting they were at fault for not leaving road despite his loud sirens. In a recorded video, the MLA’s son can be heard saying, “I was honking and using siren, why were you swerving?” When a bystander began recording the video, the accused objected, allegedly using threatening language.
