In a startling case from Bareilly, police have arrested a gym operator and his brother for allegedly drugging a woman with a pre-workout drink, sexually assaulting her, and blackmailing her with explicit videos, according to a statement from Bareilly Police on their official X account.
Bareilly police arrest gym brothers for rapped girl
The arrests made by the Kotwali police station after a woman from Rampur Garden filed a complaint on May 4. In her complaint, the victim stated that she had been going to “Ultimate Fitness Gym” near Civil Lines, Bada Dak Khana, since 2024 for workouts.
She claimed that the gym operator, Akram Beg, would offer her a pre-workout drink before exercising. On several occasions, he allegedly mixed drugs into the drink, causing her to lose consciousness. Taking advantage of her condition, he would bring her to a room in the gym, sexually assault her, and record explicit videos.
Brothers threatens women, make abusive videos, demand 50 lakh
The victim also claimed that Akram’s brother, Alam Beg, helped with the crime. When she stopped going to the gym after discovering what had happened, the accused threatened her, saying they harm her husband and children and that they would viral the videos.
Bareilly Police said that the accused initially demanded Rs 10 lakh but later raised their demand to Rs 50 lakh for deleting the videos. The victim allegedly paid around Rs 80,000 under threat.
Based on her complaint, a case (Crime No. 202/26) registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), covering assault, intimidation, and other crimes. Following orders from senior officials, police set up a special team and arrested both suspects using surveillance and informants.
