Recently, the clash occurs on the Mira Road at Poonam Cluster Society in Mumbai. The two groups clash over sacrificial goats brought into the residential area during Eid al-Adha (Bakrid). As per the reports, dispute starts when the Muslims community bought 40 to 50 goats into the society. Hindu residents raise objection on it, citing housing society rules, hygiene issues, and health concerns for old age citizens.

After formal complaints, the municipal corporation dismantled the structure on Tuesday afternoon, May 26. However, tensions increased into a physical confrontation during an attempt to rebuild the shed.
The unrest escalated when members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal joined the protesting residents. Local VHP leader NagnathKamble and VHP coordinator Harsh Singh told that an FIR was filed at the Kashimira police station.
Violence occur due to Goat Sacrifice during Eid
Political reactions quickly followed the incident. News agency reported that BJP leader Kirit Somaiya condemned the clash, accusing some individuals of trying to create fear in residential areas.
Somaiya stressed that municipal authorities should limit ritual sacrifices (Qurbani) to designated public markets rather than allowing them in housing societies. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena minister Pratap Sarnaik called for calm, urging residents to respect each other’s feelings while blaming outsiders for the turmoil.
