CM Revanth blames BRS chief for SLBC tunnel collapse in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visit the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel on 2 March, nine days after collapsed. During the SLBC tunnel collapse, 8 men are trapped there, who are now feared about their death. On 1 March, the  authorities announced the position of trapped mens are traced by using GPR, and they will brought out from tunnel by evening.

Blame Games due to SLBC tunnel collapse

CM Revanth speaks at public meeting in Wanaparthy on 2 March, and blames BRS chief and former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao for this incident. He alleged the previous government for delays in irrigation project, that cause this incident.

CM Revanth blame KCR and said, “You delayed our projects, because works were stalled, today it collapse and 8 people died. Isn’t this sin yours, KCR?” He also blame KCR for working with Andhra Pradesh government’s Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme on Krishna River. He alleged that Telangana’s share of the river water was not going fairly to local states due to project.

Tunnel Incident cause debate on irrigation projects

SLBC tunnel collapse occurs on 22 February, and over week long operation continue to rescue the 8 trapped workers. It heat up politics controversy in telangana, with BJP and BRS attacks the ruling congress and blame them for this incident.

The reason behind delay of rescue of trapped workers is because of complex nature of incident. It took place 14 kms into under-construction tunnel and exposed government to criticism from the opposition. Both BJP and BRS criticised CM Revanth for not visit the spot, even 9 days after incident.
