In a further financial hit for consumers, CNG prices rise again. The increase is Rs 2 per kg from the previous rate. This marks the fourth hike in less than two weeks amid rising global energy prices. With the latest change starting at 6 am on May 26, CNG in Delhi now costs Rs 83.09 per kg.
This is the third CNG price rise in the last nine days and the fourth increase in 11 days. CNG prices went up by Re 1 per kg on Sunday.
CNG Prices Rise Rs 2 in Delhi-NCR
Before that, prices in Delhi-NCR increased by Re 1 per kg on Friday, following a Rs 2 per kg rise on May 15. Since May 15, the total increase in CNG prices in Delhi is now Rs 7 per kg.
So far, there has been no change in the prices of piped natural gas for households or domestic LPG cylinders.
Rise in Oil prices too
The latest CNG price hike comes just three days after petrol and diesel prices were raised again nationwide on Saturday. This marks the third increase in fuel rates this month amid rising global crude oil prices and growing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Petrol prices rose by 87 paise per litre, and diesel prices increased by 91 paise per litre. In Delhi, petrol now costs Rs 99.51 per litre, up from Rs 98.64. Diesel prices have climbed from Rs 91.58 to Rs 92.49 per litre.
This latest change comes as state-owned oil companies continue to pass on the effects of higher international oil prices to consumers.
