US President Donald Trump denies the involvement in Bangladesh internal issues. He urges PM Modi to address the matter. While Donald Trump rejects US involvement, he said, “ There was no role for deep state. This is something that PM Modi has been work for long time. Frankly, I will leave Bangladesh internal issues on Modi.
Trump remarks came when react to query during press conference at White House after talks with PM Modi. Modi also shows his concerns on ongoing issues in Bangladesh.
India reacts on Bangladesh Issues, Trump rejects US involvement
Bangladesh faces the issues of political instability, followed by the collapse of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government in August last year. It causes tension between Bangladesh and India. The protests are also arisen related to border fence issues and other ongoing disputes.
Foreign secretary Address a press briefing after a meeting between PM Modi and the US President in the White House, and said that subject was discussed between two leaders and give hope that India will stable this condition. PM Modi also shared his views, and show his concerns about developments in Bangladesh. Foreign Secretary said, ” We hope that situation in Bangladesh move forward and relations will become stable. But there are some concerns about the situation. PM Modi shared these views with Trump.
Political tensions between India- Bangladesh
The matters on political tensions between India and Bangladesh comes after Trump rejects US involvement. In August 2024, student protests student movement ousted PM Sheikh Hasina after weeks of protest and violence. It results in over 600 deaths Hasina, 76, fled to India, and an interim government led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus was formed. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri came Bangladesh in December last year. India and Bangladesh agreed to keep “good relations.”
