Popular YouTuber Saleem Wastik, known for an ex-Muslim is in critical condition in a hospital. He was stabbed multiple times at his home in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The attack happened on Friday morning in Ashok Vihar Colony, according to police. Two men on a motorcycle without a number plate, wearing helmets, entered the premises where Wastik, around 50 years old and a local resident, had a small office in his house. They stabbed him repeatedly in the neck and abdomen.
Medical Emergency and Hospitalization
Witnesses reported that an attempt made to slit his throat. Local residents and family members rushed him to a nearby 50-bed hospital. Doctors assessed his injuries as life-threatening and transferred him by ambulance to Guru TegBahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi. He remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment.
Police received the first alert around 8:00 am via Dial 112, reporting that a man stabbed by two unknown individuals in the Ali Garden area.
Police Alert and Initial Response
The police arrived quickly, confirmed Wastik’s identity as Salim, son of Noor Hasan, and arranged for his immediate medical care in Ghaziabad.
Wastik’s son, Usman, filed a formal complaint, which led to the registration of a case. The complaint names two unidentified occupants of the vehicle involved in the attack. It includes Ashfaq, Sonu, Shahrukh Neta, Bhati Builder, and a local AIMIM leader, Ajgar.
Usman claims these individuals planned the attack on his father and asked for evidence to collected and for arrests to made. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras. Teams sent out to find and arrest the attackers.
