A tragic accident in Bathinda left a man dead and his young daughter seriously injured when both were run over by a road roller in a residential lane. According to initial information, the incident happened in Ganesh Basti, Street No. 9. The victim, Vishal Gupta, was riding a scooter with his 9-year-old daughter, Mannat.

While trying to move along the side of the lane, the scooter lost balance after skidding on loose gravel near a house ramp. Both father and daughter fell onto the road. Meanwhile, a road roller, which was reversing in the narrow lane for construction work, ran over them before the operator could react. Vishal Gupta suffered fatal head injuries and died on the spot, while his daughter sustained serious injuries.
Father died, child is in critical condition
Volunteers from a local welfare society quickly arrived with an ambulance. The injured child initially taken to a nearby private hospital but later moved to the Civil Hospital due to her critical condition. After receiving preliminary treatment, she transferred again to a private facility for better care.
