A fire broke out in a coach of the Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express near Sirhind railway station on Saturday morning, officials said. According to the Railway Board, one person suffered minor injuries in the incident, and the cause is still unknown. The fire started around 7:30 AM when the train (number 12204) was coming from Amritsar.
A Government Railway Police (GRP) official reported that smoke seen in one of the AC coaches. A passenger pulled the chain to stop the train, and the passengers safely evacuated from the coach.

The fire quickly spread through coach G-19. Two other coaches also experienced minor damage. The three coaches detached from the rest of the train, and fire crews called immediately, according to the GRP official.
One person suffer minor injuries in fire
The Railway Board confirmed that one person had minor injuries when fire erupts in Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express. A 32-year-old woman suffered some burn injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital in Fatehgarh Sahib. Officials said that soon after the fire detected, the railway authorities moved passengers from the affected coach to other coaches. The train will depart for its destination shortly, they added.
