Just 24 hours before Prime Minister Modi set to inaugurate a refinery in Rajasthan, it caught the large fire, and send dark smoke in air. Initial reports shows that the fire erupts in CDU section of refinery. No immediate reports of casualties release by officials yet.
Fire Hits Rajasthan Refinery Before Inauguration
India’s first greenfield integrated Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex is the joint venture between Rajasthan government and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). It will play an important role in improving India’s energy security by reducing reliance on imports and boosting domestic production.

The refinery also expected to create significant amounts of downstream petrochemical products.
These products will provide high-quality raw materials for new industrial units in the area. Industries focused on products like polypropylene, polyethylene (HDPE/LLDPE), benzene, toluene, and butadiene likely to developed, paving the way for a strong industrial ecosystem.
These materials will help in the manufacturing of various goods, such as plastic furniture, agricultural pipes, packaging films, automobile parts, synthetic fibers, medical equipment, and chemicals like paints and detergents.
This integrated development expected to improve the refinery’s utility and enhance Inauguration position as a growing hub for value-added manufacturing both in India and internationally.
