A bomb threats was sent to government on well- Kolkata’s Indian Museum on Tuesday. This threat forcing officials to set up more security measures across the premises, officials stated. The threat, pose by an nameless sender identifying themselves as “Group 1378”, claimed that explosives would be planted at the museum, and a mass killing can occurs.
According to the contents of the email, the sender stated: “We will arrive at the museum on Tuesday around 1.20 pm. We set up bombs there and will cross on a mass killing”.
In reaction, security measures were rise throughout the museum, with government undertaking thorough sweeps of the premises. The police have released an investigation to trace the sender of the threatening email and to assess the credibility of the threat.
Kolkata’s Indian Museum protected by CISF
The Indian Museum is covered and guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), ensuring a high level of safety. Following the threat email, Kolkata Police, along side its bomb squad and dog squad, arrived on the museum to conduct an intensive seek operation. However, sources advised India Today TV that not anything suspicious become discovered at some point of the search.
Terrorist Group, ‘Terrorizer’s 111’ identified
A comparable bomb threat was sent to the Kolkata’s Indian Museum in January this year, saying that explosives were kept in the premises and would burst off soon. Following the threat mail, the whole museum was vacated, and a bomb squad, sniffer puppies and senior officers of Kolkata Police have been rushed to the spot.
However, no explosives or bombs had been observed in the museum. According to a report by news Agency, Kolkata Police acquired a mail from a group known as ‘Terrorizer’s 111’ concerning a bomb threat on the Indian Museum.
