2026 Yatra Open in Kedarnath Temple

The Char Dham Yatra 2026 began with Gangotri and Yamunotri on April 19. Kedarnath and Badrinath are set to open on April 22 and April 23, respectively. Ahead of Kedarnath’s opening, the temple is attracting attention, with the shrine beautifully decorated with marigold flowers.

However, amid the stunning decorations, there’s a strict update. Temple authorities have introduced a new rule prohibiting mobile phones inside the Kedarnath Temple grounds. This means devotees cannot take photos, shoot videos, or create social media reels in the shrine area. All phones must be left outside before entering the temple.

Why Are Mobile Phones Banned In The Temple?

To understand why mobile phones are banned in Kedarnath Temple, news agency spoke to Temple Committee Member Vineet Posti. He explained that the decision aims to manage the large crowds expected during the pilgrimage season. Authorities have noticed that in recent years, many visitors were more focused on filming reels and taking photos than on offering prayers.
