Police filed case against him under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This offence can lead to a punishment of up to one year in jail.
The issue started when a Vishu greeting poster shared on social media, showing Lord Krishna in front of a plate of rice with grilled chicken. Hindu organizations protested this image, claiming it hurt their religious feelings. The complaint came from advocate MV Biju, based in Thanneermukkom.
Hindi groups protest against him
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced a protest outside the restaurant later in the evening.
Earlier, Shamir, one of the restaurant’s managing partners, apologized on Instagram. He said the post not meant to shared publicly and originally circulated in a private group where concerns raised. He mentioned that the image later shared due to miscommunication and spread widely before it taken down. He said that the restaurant not want to offend anyone and offered a sincere apology, requesting that the matter resolved peacefully.
