Teachers from a private school in Latur were fired after a video allegedly showed them checking students’ exam papers at a roadside dhaba while smoking and drinking alcohol.
Video sparks outrage in Latur
In the video, two to three teachers are seen evaluating answer sheets in an inappropriate setting. This raised serious concerns about their professionalism and behavior. The incident reportedly took place at a dhaba.
The teachers work at a private, CBSE-affiliated school located on the Latur-Ausa highway, about 10 km from the city. The footage, captured on a mobile phone, spread quickly across social media, causing public outrage.
Action taken by the authorities
Education Officer Trupti Andhare told the media that the school management acted quickly by terminating the teachers involved. “We have asked for a detailed explanation from the school authorities regarding the incident,” she said.
Another Education Officer, Sanjay Kshirsagar, mentioned that he had received initial information about the case. “I just found out about the incident. If this misconduct is confirmed, a formal inquiry will begin,” he added.
