A shocking incident has emerged from the famous Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan. A mentally unstable young man was violently attacked after entering the historic ‘Badi Deg’.
CCTV footage of the event has triggered widespread anger on social media and led to an immediate police investigation.
Mentally Unstable Boy jumped into Ajmer Sharif Dargah’s Badi Deg
The chaos began when a young man, reportedly in mental distress, climbed into the massive 16th-century copper cauldron known as the Badi Deg.
This vessel is traditionally used to cook large amounts of food for devotees during non-cooking hours. It is also a place where pilgrims toss coins, currency notes, and other offerings as a sign of faith. Eyewitnesses and video footage show the young man sitting inside the cauldron among the offerings.
However, the situation quickly turned violent. Instead of being calmly escorted out, the young man faced extreme aggression.
Viral Footage Reveals Brutality
In the widely circulated CCTV footage, several men wearing Pathani suits and caps, some of whom are reportedly connected to local management or volunteers, surround the cauldron.
The footage shows these men reaching into the cauldron to drag the young man out forcefully. Once he was pulled to the ground, the situation escalated into a brutal physical attack. The young man was punched, kicked, and hit repeatedly by the group.
Despite his evident vulnerability and lack of resistance, the mob’s fury continued until bystanders stepped in.
