60 day tobacco free campaign launch by Ministry of Education
The 60-day campaign aims to educate and empower children and youth to prevent tobacco use. It also support those who want to quit, and promote a strong health and wellness culture in institutions.
The Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2019 found that 8.4% of students aged 13 to 15 currently use tobacco products, with an average starting age of just 10 years. Acknowledging the risks young people face, the govt. has embraced a whole-of-government approach to tackle this issue through ongoing awareness, prevention, and enforcement efforts.
Participate in campaign via MyGov Platform
As part of the campaign, various activities will be organized, including the World No Tobacco Quiz and a School Challenge on the MyGov platform, along with counselling and support sessions for students who want to quit tobacco and other substances.
