One person died, and three others injured after a slab from the girder bridge of the under-construction Metro Rail Line 4 collapsed onto several vehicles in Mumbai.
A slab of the parapet wall fell onto a autorickshaw and a Skoda car, which both damaged. A fire brigade official identified the deceased as RamdhanYadav. The injured include Rajkumar Indrajeet Yadav (45), Mahendra Pratap Yadav (52), and Deepa Ruhiya (40).

Rajkumar’s condition is critical, and he is in an ICU at a nearby hospital. Mahendra and Ruhiya are currently stable, the official added. Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority reported that part of the parapet fell near pier 196 of the metro line construction close to Mulund Fire Station. It land on passing auto rickshaw.
Rescue operations starts
The Metro project team is on site. They work on relief operations and securing the area in close coordination with BMC and disaster management authorities. The statement also noted that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collapse.
Line 4 is an under-construction route that runs from Wadala in south-central Mumbai to neighboring Thane, with a large section crossing over LBS Road. This road connects areas like Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund.
